HM Land Registry has an exciting opportunity for a Infrastructure Engineer / Senior Infrastructure Engineer: Networks and Telecoms to join the team based in Plymouth. You will join us on a full time or part time, permanent basis and you will receive a highly competitive salary of £25,247 - £36,304 per annum.

It is an exciting time for HM Land Registry (HMLR) as we continue to embark on a major transformation programme. HMLR's ambition is to become the world’s leading land registry for speed, simplicity and an open approach to data. We are now looking for effective, self-motivated Infrastructure Engineers (Networks and Telecoms) to join our Digital, Data and Technology team to help us to achieve this.

The Networks and Telecoms team are responsible for all aspects of HM Land Registry’s network infrastructure and support the operation of IT services across HM Land Registry’s network and telephony infrastructure to meet business and customer requirements.

About the Infrastructure Engineer / Senior Infrastructure Engineer role:

As an Infrastructure Engineer you will monitor network performance and availability, investigating incidents and actioning them appropriately. You will maintain security controls in order to protect the integrity of HM Land Registry’s IT systems and data.

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer you will monitor network performance and availability, investigating incidents and actioning them appropriately. You will maintain security controls in order to protect the integrity of HM Land Registry’s IT systems and data. In addition to this you will develop and implement operational processes and procedures, liaise with customers on technical matters and represent the team on nominated projects.

What we’re looking for in our Infrastructure Engineer / Senior Infrastructure Engineer:

Infrastructure Engineer:

To be successful in this role you will have an IT related qualification and / or industry experience in an IT support role with exposure to Networks. You will have a broad knowledge of IT Infrastructure and operations gained academically or through work experience including experience working with one of the following:

- Firewalls and configuration of firewall policies
- Network protocols
- Switching and routing
- Corporate WiFi infrastructure
- Cloud based networking (e.g. Azure, AWS)
- Telephony / VOIP infrastructure

Senior Infrastructure Engineer:

To be successful in this role you will hold a qualification in Information Technology or a related area (Degree level or equivalent) or have held a Cisco CCNA or equivalent industry certification and / or have substantial experience in an IT Support role. You will have proven knowledge and experience of the following:

- Firewalls and configuration of firewall policies
- Network protocols
- Switching and routing.

Along with proven knowledge and experience of at least two of the following:

- Network load balancing
- Network scripting / automation
- Corporate WiFi infrastructure
- Cloud based networking (e.g. Azure, AWS)
- Telephony / VOIP infrastructure.
- Network monitoring, diagnostic tools and techniques
