Technical Oversight Consultant
We currently have a number of exciting opportunities available to join Aviva as a Technical Oversight Consultant to be part of our growing regional Property and Speciality Claims team. This is a home-based role with UK travel and flexible hours required including evenings and weekends. You will be responsible for managing performance on insourced and outsourced building claims from low to high complexity. Your role will involve supporting the development of technical standards and professional skills required to deliver excellence across buildings claims and safeguarding customer experience, indemnity spend and operational efficiency through a robust governance framework. What responsibilities will you have? Overseeing the customer journey and indemnity spend on buildings claims. Setting, embedding and monitoring governance standards and standard methodology across buildings claims. Delivering technical support to customer facing teams and suppliers. Evaluating technical
referrals to identify capability and change opportunities. Supporting the delivery of annual profit contributions by oversight intervention on claim files to control indemnity spend. Maintaining awareness of market developments and opportunities. Providing feedback on findings to support improvement activities and remedial solutions. Undertaking and calibrating QA activities across the Field team and supporting QA activity. Supporting the capability programme for the Property Field team, through identification of opportunities and delivering learning. Assisting the 'Claims Adjusting' programme to deliver year-on-year savings on indemnity spend. Updating the business on market trends and opportunities across building claims and researching/briefing key topics for internal awareness. Skills and Experience Required Good knowledge of the insurance industry and principles related to domestic property. Strong understanding of coverage issues and the application of claims
philosophies and standards. Experience in handling complex residential and commercial property claims. Experience of effectively managing stakeholders including brokers and service providers as well as resolving customer complaints. Systems thinking approach to acting on waste in the system and promoting value. Experience working within an Agile environment. Skilled communicator/conflict manager, responsive to situations and able to challenge and positively influence others at all levels, internally and externally. Good buildings technical knowledge and experience, adopting current best practices and buildings pathology. Experience of working in a customer focused environment, meeting customer needs through expertise and integrity. IT literate and interest in adopting new technology. CII Certification and/or CII Diploma or professional body designation dedication to achieve within an agreed time-frame What will you get for this role? Starting salary of Â£36,000 depending on
