Job Title:

COMPLIANCE and TRAINING OFFICER

Hours of Work:

Monday to Thursday 08.30am - 5.00pm

Friday 08.30am to 4.30pm (with 1-hour lunch)

Department:

Manufacturing and Compliance

Job Purpose:

To ensure that the site maintains and complies with all regulation and compliance activities maintaining all accreditations.

To oversee and contribute to site health and safety activities whilst maintaining regulatory frameworks.

Point of contact for Colleges (once assigned), Managers and Apprentices to ensure smooth and consistent communications of program / individuals performance monitoring.

To control, develop and support the learning activities within Manufacturing including maintenance of skills matrices and Apprenticeship learning programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and report weekly BRC audit for the site, following up on actions raised
  • Challenge employees to ensure BRC/GMP policies are adhered to
  • Conduct weekly glass and brittle plastic audit
  • Circulate internal audits schedules to auditors
  • Maintain the document control system for the site
  • Assist in the waste management system for the site
  • Ensure internal audits are completed on time
  • Action observations and NCRs from internal audits
  • Assist in updating and maintaining the company's ISO and BRC standards and internal manuals
  • Assist in executing all external standard audits for the site
  • Attend meeting for environmental & energy standard and circulate minutes
  • Maintain and update the environmental procedures
  • Assist in organising training for ISO and BRC standard updates as required
  • Conduct audits as assigned
  • Report and follow up on breakage incidents
  • Complete the CofA for customers
  • Complete, manage and maintain all records of calibration
  • Dealing with external calibration suppliers
  • Submit monthly report on audits completed, outstanding action and status
  • Follow up with interested parties on outstanding actions for all internal and external audits

Training
  • Maintenance of training matrices for Manufacturing and Engineering departments.
  • Liaise with HR to manage the Apprenticeship programs to ensure correct alignment with colleges and associated courses meet the needs of the student and the employer.
  • Liaising with internal trainers to provide training in line with skills matrix and personnel development.
  • Maintaining administration of apprentice internal program of development
  • Drive training objectives to ensure internal and external targets are met in the correct timely manner.
  • Uploading information and maintenance of training database (in HR Assistant absence)
  • Liaising with HR Assistant arranging external provider courses (which have been approved and financially signed off) for manufacturing and engineering personnel such as polymer qualifications, which may not be directly associated with the Apprenticeship program.
  • With the assistance of HR Department, arrange hotels and travel arrangements for external course where required
  • During audits provide evidence of training activity and outcomes to auditors and customers
  • With HR ensure that all annual refresher training (i.e. GMP) is completed for all employees

Technical Skills, Knowledge, Systems Knowledge (and associated skill level)

Academic/Professional Qualifications (or equivalent qualifiers)
  • Knowledge of the ISO and BRC Standards
  • Trained Auditor
  • IOSH trained
  • Educated to GCSE Grade C (4) level (min) with English or Maths (or equivalent qualification)
  • Training qualification is desirable but not essential
