Support Workers 

Position: Support Workers (ref 7807) 
Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester 
Job type: Part Time, Permanent 
Hours: 24 hours per week, 12 hours shifts covering day and night. 24 hour shifts are available on a Sunday, then a Saturday then a Monday on a rolling rota. 
Salary: £8.50 per hour sleep-in shifts; £11.25 per hour weekend day & night shifts; £10.50 per hour weekday & weekday night shifts 

About the role: 

- Support Workers are required to provide a one to one flexible support service. 
- Our client is an adult male, who has cognitive support needs, following an acquired brain injury. 

About you: 

- You must have previous experience of working with acquired brain injury and in a care environment with experience of following care / support plans. 
- Our client likes to spend time on his leisure interests including attending the gym and the football, cinema etc. 
- We are therefore ideally seeking candidates who can support him in accessing and participating in these activities. 
- Candidates must have the ability to demonstrate a person centred approach to their work and must be able to undertake training courses as required. 
- It is essential that you have excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a professional manner. 
- You must have the ability to act pro-actively and make informed decisions. 
- The successful applicant will be well organised with excellent communication skills, both oral and written. 
- Applicants must also hold a full driving licence and have access to their own vehicle with business use car insurance. 

Hours of Work: 

Work two weekends on and then have one weekend off. 

Additional hours may be available and applicants will be expected to work flexibly to ensure the care needs of the client are met. 

Due to the nature of the role an enhanced certificate from the Disclosure and Barring Service will be required.
