A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Manager to join a bustling, friendly company. Overseeing the management of the Accounts Payable, Credit Control, Payroll and Cashier functions, this is an extremely varied and fast-moving role!

What will it entail?

No two days are the same, but typical duties will include:
  • Day-to-day support of the accounts teams, including helping to resolve queries and authorising accounting entries
  • Providing cover for team leaders in their absence
  • Tracking workflow across the teams to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively
  • Coaching and training section heads and teams to ensure best customer service practice is given
  • Ensuring all cash is collected promptly and payment targets are met
  • Daily tracking and forecasting of cash balances and utilization of available finance
  • Management of company credit cards and liaison with bank
  • Overseeing third party and remote location credit control functions
  • Authorising supplier and payment runs
  • Ensuring credit limits for major trade customers are reviewed regularly and are set at appropriate levels
  • Ensuring balance sheet reconciliations are performed for all accounts
  • Maintaining and ensuring compliance
  • Constantly reviewing processes and policies
  • Project work
  • Working with heads to produce financial performance tracking reports eg debtor lists, AP statistics

What skills and experience do I need?
  • You will know your credits from your debits, and have good transactional experience
  • You will already have some managerial or supervisory experience
  • You will be an analytical thinker and be able to work to deadlines
  • You will have fantastic communication skills and be able to deal well with both staff and customers
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards and/or and an ERP system would be added advantages, but good computer skills are essential as you will likely be involved in a software migration project
