Greenwellgleeson have recently been engaged by our client, a large multinational manufacturing business in the West Midlands area, as they seek to appoint an experienced Credit Manager.

Reporting to the Finance Director and managing a team of 2 direct reports, with multiple European finance functions to manage remotely. The Credit Manager will effectively lead the Credit Control function, leading and mentoring the credit control team, ensuring efficient cash collection with corporate guidelines.

Fluent French is a Must for this position.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To lead, manage, coach and motivate a team of 2 direct reports, as well as Credit functions in other offices. Performance management of weekly/monthly reviews, identifying individual training requirements and implementation and delivery of training plans
  • Take ownership for resolving day-to-day team issues
  • Ensure team targets, service levels and key performance indicators are met on a daily basis
  • Set up monthly debt management meetings with collections staff
  • Prepare monthly aged debtor and customer performance reports for the board pack
  • Prepare monthly customer risk reports for distribution to relevant stakeholders
  • Liaise with relationship managers on a regular basis regarding high risk aged debts, attending bi-monthly sales meetings to agree progress and next steps
  • Customer liaison including regular face to face meetings with key clients
  • Introduce individual KPI targets for the team, to be monitored monthly in line with company goals, ensuring they are met and supporting the team if they are struggling to achieve them and monitor progress
  • Monitoring all collection procedures and ensure they are adhered to in line with targets
  • Ad Hoc duties as required

Personal Specification:
  • Previous Credit Management experience
  • Previous experience in a large complex organisation
  • Effective listening, verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player who works productively with wide range of people
  • Proven track record of solid judgement and decision-making ability
  • CICM Qualified beneficial
  • Be able to prioritise own workload
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills (telephone and written)
  • Excellent excel skills

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Credit Management professional with extensive staff management experience. Candidates with Credit Risk/ Analysis exposure will be of particular interest.
