What it's about

Are you an organised and enthusiastic team player with an interest in gaining experience in marketing communications and associated events?

This role will provide support to the Cambridge Assessment Network's Communications and Marketing function at a time of growth, and your role will be integral to supporting that growth. While the post involves administrative and logistic support, it also offers the successful candidate a real opportunity to develop their skills in marketing communications and events.

What you'll be doing

  • Collating and distributing the Network's 'weekly news' education update email.
  • Creating and distributing the Network's bi-monthly international alumni newsletter.
  • Supporting the delivery of internal and external marketing campaigns - including working on internal news stories, customer case studies and testimonials, and some e-campaigns.
  • Supporting the creation of a series of regular blogs designed to promote assessment learning in practice.
  • Coordinating delivery of Network flyers, brochures and merchandise to promote the Network at internal and external events. Working with colleagues across the business to identify opportunities for this.
  • Raising POs, article numbers and receipt ID's for new stock and maintaining the events and communications stock list.
  • Organising postal marketing mailings.
  • Working with the Network's designer on updating brochures, programmes and flyers, certificates and creating new promotional design templates.
  • Helping to update the Network's product and event web pages and Insite events and stories.
  • Managing the Network's images and photography library and work with photographers to keep our collection of useable images up to date.
  • Proof reading of brochures, programmes, flyers and other key documents.


Support the delivery of Cambridge Assessment Network's seminars, marketing exhibitions and conferences.
  • Organise the logistics and smooth running for the Network's thought leadership seminars.
  • Organise the logistics and smooth running of range of exhibitions and conferences we exhibit at/attend in the UK and internationally.
  • Attendance at seminars, and some attendance at promotional conferences and exhibitions - representing the Network and its offer to customers.
  • Maintain log of forthcoming promotional exhibitions and conferences and work proactively with the team and other colleagues internally to identify opportunities.
  • Coordinating team accommodation and travel for exhibitions and conferences.
  • Work with external suppliers and contractors on exhibition stand design and build, merchandise and promotional opportunities.
  • Support post exhibition evaluation to determine ROI and future exhibition attendance.
  • Supporting the team with other ad-hoc events throughout the year (e.g. internal information sharing events, some training events and international residential courses).

What we're looking for

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent


  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a friendly approach
  • Demonstrable IT skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access)
  • A willingness to work flexibly, both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities
  • A good eye for design


  • Working in an events or communications team
  • Working with customers/in a customer focussed function
  • Demonstrable experience/interest in writing and communications
  • Experience of working effectively with external suppliers
  • Experience with email marketing systems (e.g. mailchimp/campaign monitor or similar)
  • Basic CMS or events management system experience
  • Working with external suppliers - eg designers, photographers, caterers, etc
  • Basic experience using Photoshop and/or other design software
  • Following consistent processes
