What it's about

This role is about quality and scale. If you believe in excellence as standard and are excited by the prospect of managing teams to deliver big goals, then you will find meaning in this opportunity. Our team is responsible for the production of question papers that are used by students worldwide. We achieve this through collaborating with internal and external stakeholders; innovating on our processes; empowering each other to have responsibility and ownership. We are increasingly using technology to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our work practices and a focus of this role will involve the decision making and adoption of solutions in the Test Production space to drive positive change.

What you'd be doing
  • The leadership and management of teams of staff within Test Production working on Science assessment materials.
  • Developing your people to realise their potential and exceed expectations. You would have direct-line management responsibility for three Team Leaders and management oversight of their Administrators.
  • Ensuring the accurate and timely production of assessment materials in-line with agreed schedules and quality standards. You would have an allocation of assessment materials yourself, but over and above that you would be ensuring your teams were high performing in our core area.
  • Management of key internal and external stakeholders: Group Managers, Product Managers as well as those on consultant contracts (Setters etc.). To produce the best assessment materials on time requires strong and constant collaboration. You would be expected to create and maintain an environment where cordial and productive relationships with all stakeholders were maintained.
  • Optimising and developing our systems. Providing innovation to improve core processes and facilitate the adoption of CCMS and other technology.

What we're looking for:

  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Analytical with reasoned decision making
  • Able to receive and act upon feedback as well as provide high-quality feedback to reports
  • Strong negotiator
  • Leading meetings and working groups
  • Competent user of Microsoft Excel and Visio

  • Detailed planning and organisation of large scale operations
  • Leadership experience in developing team culture and people
  • Designing and implementing process improvement
  • Delivery of varying workloads to agreed schedules and quality standards

  • Collaborative and people-centric. It's a team effort.
  • Thoughtful and proactive. Great plans, strongly executed.
  • Composed, present and resilient. You'll be a leader and a role model.
