The Bank's tax team sits within Finance and comprises a team of five specialists responsible for managing the tax affairs. As Tax Advisor you will play a key role in tax compliance processes across all the taxes applicable to the Bank, including corporation tax and VAT. You will also play an active role in the Bank's tax risk management framework process.

This is a rare opportunity to make a first move into an in-house role at this level with exposure to different areas of tax. You will also have the opportunity to study CTA under the apprenticeship scheme within the bank.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Working with colleagues to ensure tax returns are prepared and submitted using complete and accurate data, are compliant with tax legislation and are submitted in line with statutory deadlines
  • Extraction and manipulation of tax data from accounting systems
  • Preparation of allocated tax returns (or key sections of larger returns)
  • Calculation of statutory accounts tax provisions
  • Keeping technically up to date to contribute to ensuring that the Bank is compliant with relevant tax legislation
  • Ensure operational controls are effective and operated correctly

What Prior Experience/Skills are we looking for?
  • Member of Association of Tax Technicians OR appropriate practical experience
  • Practical experience of tax compliance processes
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people and cultures
  • Able to manage competing priorities, work accurately and deliver to deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in other departments, building relationships across the business
  • A fully flexible approach to cross team working within Tax
