Amazing places need a helping hand now and then. Welcoming a large number of visitors each year, the visitor areas need care and attention, as do our holiday cottages. We'd like you to come and make sure we keep our special places clean, tidy and well-kept.

Hardwick Hall is one of the most impressive Elizabethan buildings in the country. Celebrated internationally, the committed team works hard to care for the property's astonishing artefacts, including one of the finest collections of tapestries in Europe.

There are three holiday cottages at Hardwick; No4 Stableyard, High Hazels and Rowthorne Lodge. All three cottages relate to the history of the estate and each have a unique story to tell. The cottages range in size from two occupants at Rowthorne Lodge - a remote cottage on the edge of the estate to High Hazels which can hold eleven guests - ideal for family get togethers.

This is a busy, forward-thinking property and the team is looking for engaging people who will enjoy this fast-paced environment.
What you'll be doing
As a Facilities Assistant working in a small team, you'll assist with the day to day cleanliness and presentation, including visitor toilets, office spaces and holiday cottages located on the estate. You'll turn your practical hand to all sorts of cleaning and minor maintenance ensuring all our facilities are kept in good working order. You'll also be asked to help with some manual work such as unloading deliveries and emptying bins. The team operate on a rota basis covering 7 days a week (Monday - Sunday, including Bank Holidays).

On change-over days for our three holiday cottages, you'll make sure that everything is clean and ready for our guests to arrive. This will include ensuring beds are made; the accommodation is cleaned to standard and is stocked up with fresh milk and flowers. We'd also like you to keep an eye out for any repairs or odd jobs that need doing.

You'll ensure the highest standards of customer service across Hardwick Hall by always implementing a 'customer comes first' attitude.

  • Experience of cleaning, both independently and as part of a team
