Experience real freedom at work and help exciting companies get funding for their Tech with full support towards your CIMA qualification.

Would you like to join a diverse, self managing team where you can shape the future of the business from day one? If this sounds like your cup of tea, read on.

We are looking for future talent to join our R&D tax relief delivery team who are as good with clients as they are crunching numbers behind the scenes. If you have passion for technology, a good head for figures and a love of learning then you could help hundreds of companies a year bring the future closer.

On a typical day 12 months into this role:
  • You will be well on the way to a CIMA qualification which provides the fundamental knowledge you need to build a successful career in business or finance, with the full support of the company.
  • You'll be knowledgeable, in government funding and will have learned how to read a company's financial statements.
  • You will have built great relationships with a large number of companies, big and small, giving you a deeper understanding of how start-ups work.
  • You'll also have had the chance to change the future of GrantTree, by taking part in running your team and the business as a whole.
  • You will build rapport with the founders and technical leaders of our client companies, so that you can represent their business in the best way when applying for government funding.
  • Builds good rapport with the client, with a clear understanding of client expectations and achieving high levels of client service.
  • Provides general support to smaller clients in the provision of R&D tax advice.
  • Regularly attends meetings, takes minutes and proactively follows up on agreed actions.

Requirements
  • You are passionate about technology.
  • Ideally, you'll have previously nurtured B2B client relationships, or participate in business development opportunity.
  • You are keen to learn about basic accounting principles and how HMRC's R&D Tax Credits scheme works.
  • You're totally comfortable producing detailed spreadsheets and written text.
  • If you have a background in technology (particularly software) or finance (corporate tax or accountancy) this is a definite bonus.

We have a flexible approach to working, and while we encourage you to spend some time in the office initially and from time to time, in general you can work remotely as often as you like. Our office is in the heart of the tech community, near Old Street, and has a fab roof terrace.

Other benefits include:
  • You will receive a yearly training budget of £2,000 for courses and tools to help you on your individual developmental journey, so you can certainly allocate your CIMA qualification towards this.

Equal opportunities

Teams are stronger when they have a diverse range of people. Applications are welcomed from everyone, regardless of the categories they fit into. We also encourage talented 'square pegs', who don't neatly fit into the person specification, to apply.

We can fully support CIMA for employees on the apprenticeship scheme as long as they have one full level left to complete of their professional qualification if they are part qualified. We can support CIMA from certificate level for employees via the apprenticeship if they are unqualified. If you are CIMA part-qualified, please make this known to us when you apply so we can provide more information about what support we could offer.
