West Sussex County Council is looking for an experienced Support Worker to join our team at Hobbs Field residential unit for Adults in the Horsham area.

Hobbs Field is a residential home for adults with learning disabilities. It comprises of two separate houses, each having 8 bedrooms, lounge, dining and kitchen areas as well as laundry and bathroom facilities.

The role of Support Worker is to support residents with personal care and wellbeing; you will support them to be active in the community, maintain relationships with family and friends, attend appointments. You will also help residents to develop and maintain practical skills to enable them to have some self-sufficiency in their daily routine and life in the home.

Successful candidates will have good communication skills and will be confident to interact with residents who have a range of needs, ensuring they receive a high level of support during their residence at the home. You will have the ability to build relationships and be comfortable and confident with occasional lone-working (you will be supported by sleep-in staff and other night staff).

The role of Support Worker at Hobbs Field can offer you the flexibility of working shifts on a part-time basis which allows for a good work-life balance. Your shifts will be agreed and scheduled on a rota'd basis, which may include weekends. There may be opportunity to work extra hours to cover staff absence available to you as well.

All mandatory training is provided in a variety of areas such as medication, infection control, food hygiene and moving and handling etc. There would also be the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised qualification (Diploma in Care).
