West Sussex County Council is seeking several experienced Social Worker's to join our Child & Family Intervention Service. Can you make a difference to our most vulnerable children?

The Child and Family Intervention Service is a specialist service providing a range of interventions based on Developmental Trauma, Attachment Theory and practice for families with children on Child Protection Plans and in the Public Law Outline including legal proceedings. Interventions include PAMS assessments, pre-birth assessment, direct work, developing child and parent relationships, use of Video Interactive Guidance and narrative work to help parents understand the impact of their own history on the way they care for their child.

Comprehensive reports are written by Child & Family Intervention Service workers to assist the child's social worker formulate care plans and assess a parents ability to make necessary changes and to maintain those changes over time. CFIS workers also attend court to give evidence of their work. The staff team consists of both social workers and child and family workers who have all received additional therapeutic training.

As an experienced Social Worker within CFIS you will be passionate about ensuring our most vulnerable children have clear decisions about their future. You will be able to build positive working relationships with parents and their children, professionals, partner agencies and carers as well as respectfully challenge when appropriate.
