What it's about
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic accountant to join our proactive, driven Finance department. The successful candidate would join the Cambridge Assessment International Education Management Accounts team who provides information, analysis and advice to support decision making at Group, Business Unit and budget holder level. Management accountants provide analysis and input to the production of the Group's budget and forecasts as well as contributing information to the Group planning process.
The focus of this role is on financial performance of products and supporting the divisions that deliver our exam series.

What you'll be doing
Proactively engage with budget holders to generate a thorough understanding of their business unit and the impact on the wider Cambridge Assessment, which include Business partnering and maintaining close relationship with the Business. Use that knowledge to create optimal finance structure and support the budget holder in producing robust forecasts and budgets, ensuring the financial cycle is complied with.
Work with and develop costing and pricing models as appropriate to support accurate assessments and development of new and existing products and services, education reform projects and tenders. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
Working with large, complex datasets and systems, analyse trends and variances, advising and influencing budget holders to aid understanding of the impact of business decisions on financial performance.
Provide clear, accurate and timely information to budget holders to enable business decisions to be made to achieve financial plans.
Collaborate with colleagues across the wider finance community to share best practice and contribute to continuous improvement of the finance service.

What we're looking for
Qualifications:
• At least part qualified or studying towards one of accounting qualifications (AAT,CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)

Skills:
• Demonstrate strong business partnering skills and ability to provide insight into business performance
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excel to an advanced level.
• Good time management.
• Able to apply relevant accounting standards appropriately
• Able to apply a high level of numeric reasoning.
• Display an aptitude for problem solving and decision making, while understanding when to refer queries to a higher level.
• Able to manipulate financial data and produce accessible outputs

Experience:
• Demonstrate experience of supporting and challenging operational teams
• Management Accounting including preparation of monthly reports as well as costing/pricing work.
• Experience of management accounts in a global organisation is desirable
• Project work, including understanding of contract terms, beneficial.
• Successfully producing detailed and accurate work to deadlines.
• Good working knowledge of finance procedures and experience of using a major finance computer system.
