Are you an experienced and enthusiastic Editorial Project Manager with a passion for academic publishing and science communication? An STM publisher based in central London is looking for an Editorial Project Manager to join their Wider Research Dissemination team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of key publications within the society's portfolio, from academic journals and magazines to their online content. This is a fantastic opportunity offering a competitive salary and is a one-year, fixed term contract. Please note this is a part-time job-share role, working 3-4 days a week.

Key duties:
  • Lead on day-to-day operational tasks and manage the publication list and deliver development plans
  • Manage the open-access journal and e-magazine, from commissioning through review to online publication
  • Deliver publishing targets related to annual objectives and agreed journal development plans
  • Manage social media with the Digital Marketing Manager and help grow engagement
  • Maintain relationships with the Editorial board, trustees and members
  • Help improve publishing processes and seek out opportunities to improve the society's portfolio
  • Responsible for the identification and coordination of areas of content in order to promote the society's dissemination of scientific research
  • Assist the publishing team with tasks and ensure they are handled smoothly and efficiently

Experience / skills required:
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent in pharmacology/life sciences is desirable with an understanding of biosciences and pharmacology
  • Editorial experience of academic or magazine publishing, preferably in an STM or charity environment
  • Interest in academic publishing, scientific communication and project-management experience
  • Understanding of charity governance and the needs of stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills with the ability to work under pressure and to deadline
  • Flexible with the ability to work in a collaborative manner and in close partnership
  • Problem-solver who can work under own initiative
