What it's about

We are looking for an experienced risk and quality specialist with excellent communication skills and a strong collaborative approach. Reporting to and working closely with the Head of Risk and Compliance this is an exciting opportunity to lead the Risk and Quality function at OCR supporting the effective identification, monitoring and management of risks for all key business activities.

What you will be doing
  • Develop and maintain an enterprise wide risk management framework highlighting to the Senior Management Team insufficiently controlled risks.
  • Establish a structured matrix management model to lead and direct a team of Risk Champions in each of the OCR directorates in order to ensure risk are identified, captured and monitored across the business.
  • Adopt a risk based approach to construct and deliver an annual audit plan and undertake necessary audits.
  • Lead OCR's engagement with third party investigations such as those conducted by ISO9001 auditors and Cambridge Assessment's own auditors, to ensure that external requirements are fully met.
  • As the Subject Matter Expert for risk and audits you will provide technical support and advice to the business on an on-going basis.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a senior manager with strong communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with staff across OCR in support of a business owned risk management approach. You will have experience of working with risk in a service environment and of undertaking internal audits and investigations. You are determined, persistent and results-oriented, with a strong drive to achieve objectives. You demonstrate a high degree of organisational skills and deploy these to get things done; self-confidence and excellent influencing skills are essential.

Ideally, you are also a certified member of the Institute of Risk Management.

You can be based in either our Cambridge or Coventry offices but regular travel to the alternate site will be required.
