What it's about

The Research and Technical Standards team in OCR is looking for a Senior Researcher to join the team. The team is responsible for supporting OCR's vocational and general qualification awards in terms of data provision and technical support, and for providing technical input into assessment issues nationally, and qualification reform.

The main focus of the Senior Researcher role will be on producing research and technical analyses to inform and influence technical discussions internally, with other awarding organisations and with the regulator. You will lead research projects which contribute to the work of the team, ensuring that research projects are conducted to schedule, are of very high quality, and that research processes are efficient and effective. You will be responsible for dissemination of those projects to both internal and external audiences. Familiarity with standards and technical issues within assessment would be an advantage. You will also be responsible for line managing and developing the Research Assistant post.

What you will be doing
  • Designing and leading high quality research studies, often working closely with other internal stakeholders, other awarding bodies or the regulator.
  • Providing analyses and short reports at short notice to inform discussions internally, with other awarding bodies and the regulator.
