Assistant Director - Technology
We are looking for: Homes England is seeking a talented leader and technology strategist to head-up its architecture and software development capability. As our de facto CTO you will define and embed our architecture function whilst growing and maturing our software development practice.
This is an exciting time for the agency as we embark on a period of rapid growth, supported by a comprehensive digital transformation programme. We are recruiting a new senior leadership team in Digital to lead us through this, with the AD Technology as a key member, setting technical strategy and delivering to agile principles.
Our successful candidate will: As part of the Digital Senior Leadership team you will be responsible for setting and delivering the Homes England technical strategy, whilst working collaboratively with your fellow leaders to shape and deliver the Digital Strategy. This is a time of unprecedented opportunity and change in the agency as we embark on an ambitious digital transformation and period of growth that will see our services, products and infrastructure completely reimagined for the digital age. We need an insightful, inspirational leader with a firm grasp of emerging technology concepts to set our technical north star and deliver coherent user and business services within a DevOps delivery model.
The skills we would like are: We need a technical visionary and evangelist. We require a leader who can get under the skin of technical options and decisions, whilst being able to communicate these clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable delivering and planning with uncertainty, adapting and adjusting as new information becomes available. You will provide technical leadership and coaching to the wider Digital team. Importantly you must be able to manage the cognitive dissonance of delivering fast-cycle, user centred services, whilst also driving coherence, security, common platforms, policies and principles.
