Hays are excited to be partnering with a global institution in their search for a new Payroll Manager for the UK business. Your new role
As the UK Payroll Manager you will report directly to the Head of Payroll supporting and guiding your teams and their performance for the production of all payroll runs and the timely processing of credit transfers. You will define and deliver a new Payroll strategy to maximise costs in line with business needs. You will have 5 direct reports so you will need to be able to motivate, coach and develop people towards their full potential.

What you'll need to succeed
This will be a fast paced and wide ranging role that will require flexibility in the successful candidate and adaptability as no two days will be the same. You will;
  • be a CIPP qualified Payroll Manager with experience of UK payrolls, ideally larger scale numbers c15k employees
  • have current Pay Compliance and Legislation knowledge and ideally will have some experience of managing outsourced payroll services
  • People Management experience is critical for this role. You will be a strong people manager that can support, coach, lead and develop the team. You will manage 5 direct reports.
  • Experience of managing high volume, time critical activities to high standards of customer care.
  • In depth knowledge of tax and NI legislation.
  • In depth knowledge of payroll processing including month end and year procedures.
  • Working knowledge of process improvement methodologies/Six Sigma
