Key Responsibilities:
  • To have excellent subject knowledge and/or industry experience to be able to set challenging tasks based on systematic, accurate assessment of learner's prior skills, knowledge and understanding. Also be able to use well-judged and often imaginative teaching strategies that, together with sharply focused and timely support and intervention, match individual needs accurately.
  • To be able to provide appropriate advice, guidance and support to motivate learners to secure the best possible opportunities for success in their learning and progression;
  • To be able to deliver a high level of Functional Skills (Maths, English and Information Communication Technology (ICT) support and qualifications and be able to successfully embed them into all teaching/assessing activity;
  • Supporting apprentices remotely to provide coaching and assessment via virtual learning platform;
  • Tracking and reporting progress of planned learning to achieve end-point assessment
  • Providing information and guidance to the learner and employer about the Leadership and Management Apprenticeship Programmes;
  • To follow the Quality Cycle as required;
  • Supporting learners undertaking Apprenticeship Qualifications in Leadership and Management L3, L5, Business Professional Apprenticeship and Functional Skills;
  • To undertake and support the diagnostic assessments of Optimum Skills' learners;
  • To prepare relevant schemes of work and lesson plans;
  • To set, monitor and review learner targets;
  • To provide development by coaching and 1 to 1 support where the need for this has been established;
  • To deliver the highest standard of teaching, learning and assessment techniques and implement effective strategies to engage, motivate and progress learners;

  • General Accountabilities/Objectives
    • To participate fully in all quality inspections and visits from professional and awarding bodies, and to provide information as required in the required format and within the set time scale;
    • Attend and participate in meetings with the line manager, as required;
    • Maintain an annual record of CPD, minimum 30 hours (pro rata);
    • To take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students with whom you come into contact;
    • Actively promote British values, equality and diversity and Prevent, ensuring the full embedding of all equal opportunities policies and health and safety requirements are complied with;
    • To ensure all learners are given fair access to assessment;
    • To ensure effective quality control and continuous improvement in all aspects of this post;
