Chief Executive, Scottish Forestry - Senior Civil Service
Scottish Forestry (SF) is a new agency of the Scottish Government which came into being in April 2019. SF promotes, regulates and supports the sustainable management and expansion of woods
and forests to deliver more for Scotland. Forestry in Scotland is a vibrant and rapidly expanding sector and our woods and forests are of enormous importance to our communities, economy and environment.
This year SF’s grant-giving will support the planting of more than 11 thousand
hectares of trees. The imperative to grow more trees is heightened by our First Minister’s declaration of a climate change emergency.
We are seeking an inspiring leader and capable manager for the role of SF’s CEO. If you have the ability to shape this organisation, delivering economic, environmental and social outcomes for the people of Scotland, we very much hope you will apply.
The CEO is responsible for some 160 FTE staff and accountable for the spend of around £69 million. This is a permanent and pensionable SCS appointment.
Relocation expenses may be available.
If you want to find out more and for details of how to apply for this role please go to the Scotland government website.
The closing date for applications is Friday 18 October 2019 at midday.
We welcome applications from all suitably qualified people and aim to employ a diverse workforce, which reflects the people of Scotland.
