Contract: Fixed term (9 months), Full-time - This role can be classed as a secondment opportunity for internal candidates with line manager approval.

Salary: £32,000 - £45,000 (pro rata)

What it's about

The Research Division conducts and publishes authoritative research across a wide range of issues in order to influence thinking and policy on education, curriculum and assessment, as well as to improve and develop Cambridge Assessment's products and services. We work closely with colleagues across the Cambridge Assessment Group and we work in partnerships with other departments of the University. These links help us to build a sound evidence base for the expansion of new education, curriculum and assessment knowledge, and to support the development of education products and services.

We are currently looking for a Research Officer for approximately 9 months starting at the beginning of January 2020. Interviews will be scheduled for Wednesday 6th November.

The role will involve some research project management in the area of education, curriculum and assessment. The role will also involve working with researchers in other project teams. The focus of the research is likely to cover education, curriculum and assessment issues across UK and international contexts.

What you'll be doing

Your principal accountabilities will be to:
  • Use professional knowledge of research design, method and literature in education, curriculum and assessment.
  • Design and conduct qualitative and quantitative research projects.
  • Conduct appropriate qualitative and quantitative data analysis.
  • Exercise professional independence and creativity.
  • Produce reports, research papers, and presentations of publishable quality.
  • Provide specialist technical support as requested.
  • Advance personal knowledge of education, qualifications, curriculum and assessment.
  • Undertake administration work as required
