Return to Practice Nurse
Opportunity for Nurses
Are you a nurse whose UK NMC registration has lapsed? Are you looking to return to practice and re-join the NMC professional register?
If the answer is yes, then we are offering an exciting opportunity for you to undertake the Return to Practice Programme for Registered Nurses.
The theoretical element of this programme is delivered by the University of the West of England and consists of 6 taught days with clinical placement here with us at the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust.
You will be offered a placement in one of our clinical areas to complete your practice requirements, where you will receive support, supervision and be assigned a sign off mentor. This clinical practice will support your application to reapply for NMC registration.
Whilst completion of the programme does not automatically guarantee a permanent post, the Trust is keen to recruit returnee nurses into the most suitable ward or department.
You will receive a stipend funded through Health Education South West, which is paid near the start of the programme. Further information can be found on the Health Education England South West website.
If you would like some more information regarding return to practice prior to completing an application form, on the 24th October 2019 we are holding an information event. This will be an opportunity to meet our recruitment leads and have a tour around some of our wards.
Interviews will be held week commencing 11th November 2019 for candidates wanting to regain their registration as an Adult or Children’s Nurse. Please note there will be a calculations and literacy assessment test as part of this process. The next course commences in January 2020.
