Here at Discovery we are looking for dedicated individuals to join our Support Worker team at Greenway Cottages the rural village of Bishops Lydeard. You don't need to have experience as a Support Worker as we can give you the training and knowledge you'll need but you will need to have a great attitude and be passionate about improving the lives of the people in our care.

About the role:

As a Wake-In Night Support Worker at Greenway Cottages, you will be providing support during the hours of 10pm to 7am to adults with learning disabilities. Four gentlemen live at Greenway Cottages, they are on the Autism spectrum and may demonstrate behaviours that present as challenging. This role will be at the heart of our service, ensuring all needs are met throughout the night and providing them with support when needed. This could include tasks such as personal care, medication support and the meeting of nutritional needs as well as domestic tasks. The people who live at Greenway Cottages are all sociable and enjoy interaction so we are looking for someone who is friendly and approachable and is able to communicate effectively to offer reassurance and value to people's lives.

Benefits and rewards:
  • £9.00 per hour, £9.90 for waking nights, £30.50 per sleep in.
  • Full time, part time, and relief work available.
  • An Additional £1,200 per annum travel allowance will be awarded to work specifically in this service.
