Job Purpose

Provision of specialist occupational health (OH) and wellbeing advice throughout the Interserve Group and to provide strategic advice to key stakeholders on current and emerging health issues to minimise the risks within the Group.

  • Developing and delivering Interserve's strategic OH goals throughout the application of OH improvement programmes aligned to the Interserve's Group HSE strategy.
  • Promote Interserve's vision and values to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive to deliver continual OH improvement across the Interserve Group.
  • Provision of accurate and timely OH data to internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • To lead and manage the delivery of Occupational Health within the Interserve Group maintaining high levels of professional standards and ensuring appropriate clinical procedures and standards are maintained.
  • To provide OH leadership, strategic advice and operational support on occupational health and wellbeing policy and procedures issues to all Interserve operations.
  • To manage the relationship with external OH providers.
  • To take the co ordinating lead in the delivery of Group OH activities; primarily the Group wide health surveillance programme and health and wellbeing activity.
  • To provide support to HSE investigators as required by Interserve Group HSE policies and procedures.
  • To identify and deliver where appropriate OH training to the OH team.
  • Work and communicate effectively in a professional manner with all external stakeholders e.g.; enforcing authorities.
  • Actively support all members of the HSE team.
  • Develop, maintain and implement HSE leading and lagging key performance indicators (KPI's) and related improvement programmes.
  • Manage a remote team of Occupational Health technicians and nurses.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Registered Nurse with an OH Degree qualification
  • Extensive managerial experience
  • Detailed understanding of Health & Safety and OH legislation
  • Knowledge and application of data analysis techniques
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Excellent communication skills and team building skills
  • Experience of budget management
