Administrator - Student and Staff Support

West Suffolk College, Bury St Edmunds

Permanent, 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am -2pm.

Salary: £10,895.72 - £11,163.91 pro rata'd (£16,125.66 - £16,522.59 FTE) per annum, depending on experience

The College Administration team are looking for a Administrator to support Students and Staff at West Suffolk College. We are looking for someone is calm under pressure, with a methodical, organised and flexible approach to their work. This role will require someone that is able to communicate and engage with both students and staff at all levels. Also have flexibility with your working hours.

Role Responsibilities
  • Provide a student reception service acting as first point of contact for student enquiries and manage the College's lost property service.
  • Act as first point of contact for the College bursary scheme. This may also include support students to make applications, participating in assessing and awarding the bursary and recording the process of appeals and reassessments.
  • Provide effective and efficient day to day administrative support to managers and curriculum staff to support the student experience both in classroom and Work Placed learning.
  • Support Conservatoire East events as appropriate and as the provision develops.
  • Manage the administration support required for all student trips and visits including communication with parents and taking payments via Mirco-Kiosk.

Required qualifications, skills and experience
  • Qualified to or working towards a Level 2 in Administration qualification.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students and staff at all levels
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure with changing priorities and often to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of working in an administrative role.
  • Good customer service and administrative skills
  • Good IT and Microsoft Office skills
