Procurement/ Sourcing Manager

Locations: Edinburgh, Halifax, Bristol ,London

Salary: £45,099 to £55,121 (£54,117 - £66,143 for London) base salary, plus significant annual personal bonus %, 13% employer pension contribution, 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

This is an exciting time to join us at the key stages of our transformation and investment journey in new sourcing technology.

We are looking for people to join our category teams and contribute to the development of category strategies, delivering specific initiatives to drive the effective supply of services to Lloyds Banking Group and management of our cost base.

For individuals to lead initiatives with clients that drive effective spend management through demand management, simplifying specifications and achieving business outcomes. We are also actively involved in innovation whether that be bringing new solutions and suppliers to the Group that can deliver the Bank of the Future, or in our sourcing approach. As such proactive learning and curious mindsets are key.

What we want you to be responsible for

o Input into category and sub-category strategies reflecting external market conditions whilst optimising the cost of ownership to deliver sustainable strategic direction for the business

o Deliver opportunities that drive down costs in delivering our service through the identification of opportunities, delivering savings targets in line with the Group's objectives

o Develop effective relationships with key internal partners to increase their awareness of sourcing and support for sourcing initiatives

o Help to identify the best approach, ascertain customer's future requirements and where appropriate, respond to changes in the internal and external business environment to secure best value from third party expenditure

o Lead cross functional teams through the sourcing process recognising economies of scale through robust contract negotiations, supplier selection and management of the commercial aspects of the 3rd party supplier relationships

o Apply knowledge of contractual terms and conditions ensuring appropriate risk mitigation embedded into supply contracts to provide high quality services to the Group

o Work collaboratively with the supplier management teams to develop and implement the appropriate supplier governance structure ensuring effective contract handover
  • Report and track financial benefits versus pipeline and targets, identifying potential risks

These are the skills we are looking for

Specific experience within the category areas outlined, or other significant transferable sourcing experience, but not necessarily in a financial services organisation

Degree-education preferred, but not essential

o Procurement proficient (e.g. CIPS qualification)

o Experience of leading a cross-functional team to deliver financial benefits through an end-to-end strategic sourcing process

o Evidence of constructively challenging and influencing partners to deliver the best outcome

o Ability to negotiate and draft contracts

o Ability to build strong working relationships with senior partners and key suppliers

o Strong negotiation and communication skills (oral and written)

o Strong analytical and organisational skills

o Strong self-motivation and ability to demonstrate independent working.
