What it's about

The Research and Thought Leadership group at Cambridge Assessment English are recruiting a Research Support Administrator to join our friendly Research Support Team. The role would be ideal for anyone looking to work two or three days a week on a fixed-term basis in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Working closely with the Administrative Coordinator and other members of the Research Support Team, Research Support Administrators provide technical and administrative assistance to the wider Research team on key projects and areas of research.

Due to the nature of the job share, it is expected that the role-holder would work Thursdays and Fridays as a minimum, with the option of spreading the 0.4FTE over three days if preferred.

What you'll be doing

As a Research Support Administrator, you would support the provision of business administration for the following areas:

  • Arranging and servicing meetings
  • Event administration, eg: staff seminars or conferences
  • Booking and coordinating UK and international travel arrangements, including using our online booking systems
  • Providing ad-hoc research and project administration support as necessary depending on changing business needs

What we're looking for

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent

  • Extensive knowledge and confidence in the use of MS Office
  • Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Familiarity with document control and use of file storage systems
  • Knowledge and/or experience of Cambridge Assessment English exams, procedures and/or language testing would be welcome
  • Ability to prioritise workload independently in response to changing circumstances
  • Proven initiative and ability to problem solve
  • Ability to communicate effectively and positively with others
  • Ability to learn how to use new software and system quickly

  • Experience of working with senior staff and liaising with external stakeholders
  • Experience of providing administrative support in a busy working environment
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Experience of providing project support would be preferred
