Job Title: Personal Assistant Location: Central Worthing Hourly rate: £10 per hour rising to £11 per hour after initial probationary period (travel and out-of-pocket expenses also paid). Reference: DP5124 Hours/shifts: 10 Hours per week After school and weekends Hours to be discussed at interview. Summary A lively 13 year old boy with Cerebral Palsy requires a fun, creative and mature Personal Care Assistant to assist him with social activities in and out of the ; You must be passionate about and have experience of working with children and/or young people with ; Own car and driving licence essential. Other Requirements • Must have a UK driving licence • Must have access to own vehicle All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts. Description Typical duties Domestic - Helping child with homework, cooking, board games, etc. Preparing drinks, snacks and meals, some cleaning and household chores, etc. Personal Care: Evening/overnight shifts may be available in future which would involve helping child get ready for bed and getting ready for school in the morning Social: Taking child out at weekends bowling, cinema, trips to the park, in own car Monitoring and keeping child safe when out and about Person Specification: The successful applicant will be: Experience of working with children with disabilities Ability to swim would be useful Physically active and strong Patient and calm Good at establishing boundaries with children Fun and creative Own car and clean driving licence Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality Reliable with good time-keeping Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills Honest and cheerful Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
