Strategy and Service Manager Location: Barnsley S70 2DR Salary: £57,417-£62,020 Plus laptop & phone Hours of Work: 37 Mon - Fri flexible hours About the Company: Creativity, ambition and a focus on people. Strategy and Service Manager Responsibilities: •Overall responsibility for the leadership, management, direction, co-ordination and development of a significant and diverse range of human, financial and physical resources, covering dispersed workplaces and environments, including allocation and re-allocation of resources to areas of work and the evaluation of work methods and practices •Provide strategic leadership to ensure high quality delivery, management, monitoring and evaluation across all contracts, initiatives and interventions ensuring compliance with and adherence to all relevant quality frameworks and contract requirements. •Liaise, negotiate, influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at local, regional and national level to achieve strategic aims and ensure Service sustainability •Analyse and make judgements in a rapidly changing environment, interpreting very varied and highly complex information to produce solutions, inform strategy development and predict future circumstances affecting the Service •Undertake critical performance management, robust self-assessment and complex data analysis and interpretation to ensure quality practice in all service delivery which results in continuous improvement across all areas •Maintain excellent knowledge of local and national legislation, regulations, policies and procedures which have implications for service delivery and use this to inform strategy development, performance management and operational delivery •Maximise all funding opportunities to ensure Service development and sustainability •Lead on the long term strategic planning, management and development of complex projects and systems collaborating with internal and external partners as required to achieve Service and corporate aims and objectives •Provide professional advice, guidance and information including interpretation of policies, procedures, guidance and legislaton •Undertake budget management and financial planning, setting budgets, appropriately allocating funds, authorise and monitor income and expenditure Strategy and Service Manager Requirements: •Educated to degree level or equivalent level 6 •Relevant Professional Qualification •Substantial experience at senior / service manager or equivalent level of operational management in a large agency or organisation relevant to the provision of services for this post •Experience of working in and forging successful partnerships with internal and external bodies at local and national level to successfully deliver provision that meets Service objectives •Significant experience of operational service development, implementation and successful evaluation through the use of systems including experience of working within the statutory, regulatory and inspection regimes of the public sector •Experience of leadership in a learning and skills context, with improved outcomes through the successful use of complex data to set challenging targets for projects, teams, departments and individuals •Track record of leading and managing programmes to achieve significant, sustainable service improvements and outstanding results •Experience of policy and procedure formulation and implementation •Excellent written and verbal communication skills •Willing to work flexibly in accordance with policies and procedures to meet the operational needs of the council Strategy and Service Manager Benefits: •Local Government Pension Scheme (employer contributions are significantly higher than your own) •Between 21 and 30 days annual leave •Up to four days volunteering time •Flexi hours •A range of lifestyle discounts on grocery shopping, health & beauty products, children & family and much more •Technology scheme •Cycle to work scheme •And many more!
