Job Title: Export Sales Manager (Europe and South America)

Location: Home Based (Travel required)

Salary: Up to £35,000 dependant on experience

They are expanding their Export team! A new role has been created selling their contract and retail fabrics to existing customers/distributors/contractors/design groups across Europe, attending trade shows and exhibitions to grow customer base further. In the mid to long term future they also see this person responsible for the introduction of their products South America. They are also very flexible in the level of experience for this position.

The Role:

To form part of their growing export team they are looking for candidates with the drive and determination to succeed, aligning themselves to their company values we'd like someone who has a passion for product, is a great communicator, is willing to travel extensively (70% of your time) and has excellent presentation skills.

There is a requirement for international travel as part of the role so it would be advantageous to live within a commutable distance of an international airport.

Main Responsibilities:

Set up distribution arrangements for sampling
  • Achieve target numbers for retail pattern book distribution
  • Achieve target numbers for contract fabric binders and books distribution
  • In collaboration with the international partners, present the brand with features and benefits to their customers
  • Accompany distributor sales teams ensuring they are capable of selling the brand and products
  • Support international distributors at relevant trade fairs to help them sell the brand and products

Sell fabrics to distributors for inclusion within their own collections
  • Sell specific lines into distributors that fit within their own trends/collections
  • Work with international partners to develop specific colourways that are appropriate for their market

Sell fabrics to retail stockists
  • Fabric roll stock
  • PVC roll stock

Sell bespoke sampling solutions of company's fabrics
  • Help customers create their own branded formats of brand's pattern books
  • Sampling formats of brand's fabrics that are most appropriate to each market

Ensure company's fabrics are specified for commercial projects
  • Working with international Architect and Design practices through networking with distributors to supply fabrics on project briefs

Build long term partnerships with distributors and ensure they are working with the right partners in each country
  • A minimum requirement of 70% of time spent on international travel
  • Manage and record progress through CRM and Area Business Plan on Trello
  • Trade shows and exhibitions attendance
  • Distributor sales team training and networking
  • New range presentations delivered to all customers
  • 50/50 split between existing customers and new business prospecting

Key Requirements:
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to speak French or Spanish would be an advantage
  • Ability to articulate features and benefits of product
  • Ability to 'concept sell' a brand
  • Great relationship builder
  • Knowledge of the textile industry (retail and/or contract sectors) would be an advantage
  • Moderate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Moderate Microsoft PowerPoint skills
  • Highly numerate
  • Great communicator and understands how to communicate whilst working remotely
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to multi task
  • Ambitious and competitive
  • A desire to learn
  • Excellent questioning skills and techniques

  • Willing to travel extensively
  • Able to commute to an international airport when needed
