A charitable organisation based in West London is seeking a General Manager to join their small team and support the staff and volunteers to ensure the services provided and tasks completed are of a high standard. The position holder will also work closely with the Line Managers and Members to ensure the effective development of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing the day to day running of the office and ensuring the smooth operation of administrative systems
  • Ensuring staff are well informed and are able to access up to date information and resources
  • Supporting, inducting, supervising and carrying out annual appraisals of staff
  • Ensuring adequate funding is available through applications to relevant organisations and managing the fundraising arm of the organisation
  • Attending council meetings, representing the team and ensuring a good flow of information to and from the team

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
  • Proven track record of leadership and experience in a non-for profit organisation, both at a senior level
  • Experience developing and working collaboratively in partnership with a wide range of individuals and organisations
  • Good understanding of effective charity governance and knowledge of appropriate legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience setting and managing budgets and monitoring financial performance
  • Excellent communication skills - written, public speaking and presenting to a wide range of audiences
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent postgraduate management qualification
