We are a global not-for-profit with a fast-growing, highly motivated team working worldwide to promote a more effective and more legitimate government. Our mission is to help governments achieve public impact, i.e. better outcomes for citizens.

About you

We need a motivated, experienced and reliable Operations Manager who can support our young and growing organisation. This is a part-time position and we are open to candidates’ suggestions about how to best structure a three day work week. Remote and/or work from home is possible.

Position summary

This is a permanent, part-time (60%) position at the Centre for Public Impact. As our Operations Manager, you will be a key member of our organisation, helping us grow our organisation in a sustainable way and ensuring we operate in an efficient and effective manner.

As of late 2019, CPI works in three different teams: the Global team, the UK team (who share an office at Canary Wharf, London) and the North America team (based in Washington DC).

The Operations Manager will be part of the Global team and provide support across all three different entities. The Operations Manager will work closely with CPI’s Executive Director and the Directors of our UK and North America offices to help shape our way of working in this new structure. 


You will be responsible to help our young organisation make key decisions about our financial strategy by producing internal and external financial reports that can help our teams and our Board make informed decisions.

As part of this role, you will also be responsible for coordinating with our founder and funder, Boston Consulting Group, and other funding partners. In addition, you will have oversight over Global recruitment, IT and office management. 

As our Operations Manager, you will also run our Board secretariat. As such, the Operations Manager plays a critical in ensuring we prepare reporting materials and communicate effectively with our international Board of Trustees and that Board meetings run smoothly. 

In addition to the strategic responsibilities, the Operations Manager is expected to manage our vendors and keep our books. This includes running payments and VAT returns. You will also be the main point of contact to our external accountants and auditors.

You will be supported by our Team Coordinator who will help you to ensure that all legal and regulatory documents are filed on time and monitor compliance with laws and regulations in our countries of registration. 

This role will give you an excellent oversight of how a global not for profit operates. The role combines managing day-to-day financial matters with ownership over global policies and procedures.
