Job Role - Curriculum Lead Aviation and Logistics

The Sector Lead will report to the Director of Quality & Excellence. They will work closely with the other members of the Excellence team along with Operations, Key Accounts and Recruitment teams to design and develop learning resources and quality assure delivery to maximise effectiveness of apprenticeship programmes. The Sector Lead will be responsible for effective development of apprenticeship programmes and for the management of quality assurance, the evaluation of the quality of delivery via observations of teaching and learning and the resulting CPD and support requirements for ADCs. The Sector Lead will play an active role in the overall success and growth of the apprenticeship provision.

The role of Sector Lead for Aviation and Logistics will require them to have extensive knowledge, competency and exposure of the following sectors and/or related industries;

* Aviation
* Freight forwarding
* Warehousing and supply chain
* Cabin crew
* Retail travel
* International trade and logistics
* Aviation ground operations and management

The role of Aviation, Logistics and Transport Sector Lead will predominantly be to be the 'sector expert' with the support from their Sector Specialists support and develop the delivery of the above-named sectors. They will also be expected to build curriculum and implement, manage and monitor quality assurance and EPA activities within their sectors. The Sector Lead will be responsible for the Sector Specialists within Aviation and Logistics.

This is a national role and will require extensive travel.

Key Responsibilities :
- To manage and drive the design and development of high quality content
- Work closely with the Key stakeholders
- Provide subject matter expertise of Apprenticeships, Standards and related qualifications
- Manage the development of clear journey maps and delivery models, created to identify progress milestones and EPA requirements for all learners
- Ensure equality, diversity and inclusion learning is actively embedded in all programme materials
- Ensure safeguarding and learner centric support are central to every day practice and behaviour and that opportunities to develop learner and employer awareness of British values, safeguarding and Prevent are developed and embedded in all programme materials
- Manage and develop robust quality assurance processes including sampling plans, monitoring visits and professional development activity, including functional skills quality assurance, whilst ensuring that all activity is planned and fully documented in-line with Seetec, Ofsted, Awarding Organisation and ESFA requirements
- Lead on the identification, planning, implementation and review of improvements to systems and processes across the whole of the business, ensuring that SMT are fully aware of developments and actions and projects have a detailed action plan in place

Skills and Experience :

- Leadership and management qualification or equivalent proven track record
- Sector specialist qualifications or equivalent experience
- Assessor, Quality Assurance and Teaching qualifications
- Excellent understanding of Ofsted requirements and the current Apprenticeship provision
- In-depth knowledge and experience of delivery programmes, including understanding of current Apprenticeship programmes and best practice delivery and assessment methodologies
- Recent experience of the evaluation of training methods and training programmes
- Current expertise in curriculum development
- Sound track record, knowledge and experience of leadership, staff support and development
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Awarding Organisation and End Pont Assessment Organisation requirements
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of Ofsted Inspection requirements
- Experience of effective working in collaboration with colleagues in different teams in a demanding and fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including negotiating and influencing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills and leadership qualities
- The ability to use own initiative and work independently
- Positive outlook, solution driven, 'can do' attitude
- A team player with the ability to use influencing strategies to gain commitment.
- High level of initiative and motivation

- Experience of working with government funding and referral partners

Additional Information
Salary: £33,600 - £42,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Location: Remote working - you will have no permanent place of work and will be required to attend various locations in the course of your working week. You are entitled to claim business mileage/travel expenses and for these purposes we will use your home address as your base location

Hours: 37 hours per week - full time


£32,600 to £42,000 Basic Salary
Expenses paid on travel
Mileage allowance 45pm a mile
