Clinical Cancer Nurse Specialist | Edinburgh | Permanent | 20 hours per week | £18.36 per hour

Spire Murrayfield - located in Edinburgh, is looking for an experienced Nurse to join us as a Clinical Cancer Nurse Specialist, providing exemplary planned care for Colorectal and Gynaecological cancer patients across the whole cancer pathway.



The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the team delivers effective and appropriate patient care through clinical expertise and leadership. To act as a resource and facilitator for all Colorectal and Gynaecological cancer care within the hospital. Working a Monday, Thursday and one other day per week, this could be flexible.

Murrayfield hospital was established as a purpose built hospital in 1984, conveniently located in the west of Edinburgh. In 2015 our consulting rooms had a £1 million refurbishment. In 2010 we opened Shawfair Park Hospital, a day case facility, based in south east Edinburgh. Each of our hospitals practice some of the most advanced treatments supported by the latest generation imaging and diagnostic technology. This means we offer everything from screening and rehabilitation through to leading edge surgical procedures and cancer care.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Develop practice in the assessment of health and wellbeing needs of patients with Colorectal and Gynaecological cancer
  • Develop knowledge and practice in Colorectal and Gynaecological cancer care
  • Actively promote a working environment and culture that improves health, safety and security
  • Continue to develop and improve the Colorectal and Gynaecological Cancer Services
  • Continually assess the quality of care provided and implement improvements where required


Who we're looking for
  • NMC registered Nurse
  • Cancer Nursing background
  • Ideally working towards a Cancer Nursing qualification
  • A Qualification in Advanced Communication Skills would be desirable
