Charge Nurse - Learning Disability/Mental Health
An excellent opportunity has arisen within a Private Mental Health service based in Nuneaton. It is a brand-new service and brand-new healthcare provider placing patients and innovation at the forefront of its objectives. This is an excellent opportunity and requires candidates who have worked with Learning Disabilities and Autism. Charge Nurse - Learning Disabilities/Mental Health - Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate shifts
  • Manage junior nursing team and support workers
  • Provide leadership and guidance
  • Prepare staffing rota
  • Managing skill mix
  • Provide ongoing clinical supervision
  • Meet with external commissioners and stakeholders
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with health and Social Care Act, Mental health Act and mental Capacity Act
  • Ensure practice is carried out in line with the most recent guidance
  • Support the hospital Director in managing budgets for the service
  • Deputise for the Hospital Director in their absence.


Charge Nurse - Learning Disabilities/Mental Health - skills required
  • Registered Nurse - RMN/RNLD
  • Post registration qualification
  • Registered Nurse with experience of working in management role
  • Leadership and management qualification or working towards one
  • Hold an NMC 'approved sign off' Mentorship qualification
  • Ability to lead team and work effectively with others
  • Demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently, able to problem solve and prioritise own and others work
  • Demonstrates planning and organisational skills
  • Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility dependent upon work priorities
  • Knowledge of relevant national polices and guidelines
  • Understanding around the purpose of auditing and clinical governance
  • Understanding of the process of promoting best practice and contributing to multi- disciplinary team working.
