Are you a teacher who loves working with kids who is looking for something different? Are you an experienced TA looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience of running or managing a Pre-School or Holiday Club? Do you w ant to inspire the next generation learning through play?

We have a busy schedule of after-school clubs running across York and are looking for someone engaging, organised and with a genuine love of kids to oversee the delivery.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to lead our merry bunch of STEM facilitators. You just need to be organised and enthusiastic. We have all the activities written and provided to you and we'll train you to deliver the content.

About Technology in Play York

Technology in Play is a provider of STEM After-School Clubs, Weekly STEM clubs and Holiday Clubs in York. We are dedicated to engaging primary aged children in STEM topics with a fun and creative approach. We established in 2017 and have been running workshops, outreach and working with our corporate partners to bring to life our mission since.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our York branch to lead our small team of STEM Facilitators and oversee our school and parent communications. We are looking for someone who has experience working with children and can communicate well with schools and parents. This requires a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual who can deliver to a high standard and work with the team to carry out the mission and goals of the company. There is significant scope to develop this role for the right candidate who is keen to develop and grow with the organisation. Great opportunity for a teacher looking to step into a part-time none school setting role, a TA looking to step up, or a STEM facilitator in a museum setting to gain commercial experience.

Role Specification

The purpose of this role is to maintain the existing delivery activity of the York branch whilst developing opportunities to increase activities and the team. The successful applicant will be required to deliver a minimum of Mon to Thurs After School Clubs and Holiday Clubs whilst facilitating the successful delivery of all other activities via a team of facilitators.
  • Deliver; After School Clubs Mon to Thurs, Weekly STEM Clubs, Holiday Clubs, parties/events/workshops.
  • Maintain relationships with and update local advertisers on classes and events.
  • Manage branch social media channels,
  • Maintain relationships with venues & Update booking systems,
  • Manage parent communications,
  • Manage resources and rotas for AD-Hoc staffing requirements,
  • Ensure all resources for own and staff delivery are prepared,
  • Ensure the safeguarding policy and OFSTED requirements are met,
  • Identify and undertake local marketing activities to maintain a busy delivery schedule.

Person Specification:
  • Experience of working with Children,
  • Enthusiastic and motivated,
  • Flexible, adaptable and capable of planning and managing time effectively,
  • Must have excellent communication skills,
  • Ability to articulate an understanding of the goals of TiP and how their skills and experience would be able to support in attainment of these,
  • Keen to learn, quick to learn and interested in the goals and mission of TiP,
  • Must have own Car,
  • DBS Required,
  • Paediatric First Aid Certified.
