Hays Accountancy & Finance is exclusively partnered with an award-winning Scottish Law firm with offices in Edinburgh looking to hire an experience Credit Controller to join their established finance team.

Your new role

Reporting directly into the Financial Controller, as Credit Controller you will support the firm in its intention to continually grow and develop the practice in all areas. Your purpose will be to reduce the Firm's lock-up days, by minimising moneys due to the Firm by management of the credit control system through contact with debtors and liaison with partners and fee earners, cashroom and debt recovery department, as well as minimising aged WIP write-offs through regular scrutiny of WIP balances.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have previous experience working as a Credit Controller where you're comfortable working as part of a team and able to manager and prioritise a busy work load. Your main duties will include liaising with fee earners regarding outstanding fees per the credit control policy, contacting clients by telephone, e-mail and letter and monitoring responses through a diary system until debt is settled. You will take calls from clients wishing to settle bills by credit card, process the necessary card transactions and PMS accounting entries. If you have experience with WIP process this will be a great attribute given you will be monitoring aged WIP and engage with fee earners, and Heads of Department to ensure action is taken where appropriate. Since you will be liaising with key individuals within the organisation you will have excellent communication skills and demonstrate good relationship building skills.
