The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) is the professional membership body for family doctors in the UK and abroad. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to use your experience to make a vital contribution to the educational and professional development activities of the RCGP and the Continuing Professional Development of General Practitioners (GPs).

We are looking to recruit a talented individual to manage the RCGP GP SelfTest Tool, an online dynamic learning-needs assessment tool for GPs at all career stages, which helps them to validate knowledge and identify areas for improvement with links for further study. The system offers an online database of thousands of multiple-choice, self-test questions, which is an invaluable resource to trainee GPs preparing for assessment and for qualified GPs seeking to demonstrate ongoing competence for revalidation, and in pursuit of extended roles.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the GP SelfTest question database, the end-to-end processes of creating, editing, reviewing and publishing new questions, and for all subsequent GP SelfTest analyses and other reporting processes.

Educated to degree level or having equivalent qualifications, the successful candidate will be experienced in using, compiling and maintaining databases, as well as extracting and manipulating data and producing reports in Excel. Knowledge of Moodle or other online learning systems would be advantageous. The successful applicant will have excellent IT and keyboard skills, meticulous proof-reading abilities and be able to demonstrate that he/she can work with minimum supervision as well as to contribute effectively as a member of a team.

A background in education, assessment, the medical field or related areas would be advantageous as would be the ability to analyse and interpret statistics.
