Agora Talent is working with a brilliant Start-Up in Central London. (Series A)

This role has it all; you will be looking after everything from month end, budgeting and forecasting, Stat prep, Taxation, cash management and Board Pack management.

I don't think you will find many roles where you can work with an FD who will allow you to tick off some significant parts of your CV this early on. They are looking for a right hand who wants to be a part of this amazing journey.

The business is expanding rapidly, and are now looking for an experienced Finance Manager to support the team and manage the finance function. This position will report to the Finance Director and have one direct report for now.

The role:

· Month-end reporting: Owning the month-end process, including preparation, analysis and commentary of monthly accounts. Managing and providing support to our outsourced book-keeping company to facilitate with the month-end close process.

· Budgets & Forecast: Assisting with the preparation of budgets and forecasts and providing monthly variance analysis.

· Board reporting: Helping with preparation of board reports for equity investors and looking to improve the quality and relevance of financial information provided.

· Statutory reporting/filings: Responsibility for oversight of VAT returns and other statutory reporting obligations, including year-end accounts and Companies House filings.

· Cap Table Management: Maintaining the cap-table

· Payroll Process: Managing the monthly payroll and pension filing process and overseeing commission calculations.

· Invoicing and accounts payable: Supporting the team to ensure invoices are created on time and sent out for our dealership clients. Helping manage the process for chasing outstanding debt.

· Purchase Ledger: Authorising payment runs and ensuring timely payment of suppliers.

· Finance Process Improvements: Improving processes and assisting with the implementation of new systems and controls as we look to scale. Working with the tech team to plan the automation of invoicing.

· Ad-hoc duties: Working closely with the Finance Director to provide support with ad-hoc duties, including tax and other compliance work.

· Coaching/mentoring: Providing support, training and guidance to your direct report - you will ideally have managed at least one direct report.

· Relationships: Maintaining relationships with key finance providers, including outsourced book-keeper, lawyers and tax advisers.

What we're looking for:

Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA)

· Technical ability - solid UK GAAP Statutory accounts production knowledge and awareness of other statutory filing and compliance requirements.

· Software and Systems experience - you'll have strong excel skills and experience of using an accounting package, ideally Xero.

· Financial modelling - good financial modelling skills, with the ability to produce forecasted P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow statements.

· Natural organisation skills - we're a growing company that's developing quickly, and things move fast. You'll need to be someone that loves setting up processes to ensure nothing is missed.
