An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager to join one of the UK's most successful professional services companies for contractors and freelancers.

We are looking for a high performing Field Sales Consultant to join the team, focusing on managing existing accounts and generating new business. You will be responsible for providing a professional and proactive relationship management service to a portfolio of client agencies and end user companies.

The business operates within the umbrella payroll industry, specialities of their Umbrella Accountancy Service include tax, employment, accountancy and legislative compliance. They provide a range of market leading innovative solutions and hold preferred supplier relationships with some of the UK's largest recruitment agencies.

Due to growth we have an opening for a business development manager to work closely alongside an office-based account manager out of the Cheshire office.

Umbrella experience is advantageous but not essential as full product training will be given.
Our client turns over more than £300m with multiple office locations and has over 40,000 clients using the service and 90,000 contractors so opportunity for progression and further career prospects is greatly increased.

We will provide the successful candidate with a ramp up period and a very strong performing client base with opportunity for further growth with new business opportunities. Alongside in-depth training and development to get you up to speed as quickly as possible. This can also be remote training due to location base of the position.

You should have the ability to generate new business opportunities within an existing base, therefore someone with this skill set is preferred.

The role is mostly focused around new business generation whilst working alongide an internal account manager. You will be required pusue new leads and create revenue through networking events.

The main duties of a Business Development Manager are to;
  • Maintain and grow existing relationships within your network to ensure maximum business growth
  • Generate and develop new business with lapsed client accounts or cold clients
  • Maintaining regular contact with clients through meetings, calls and email
  • Provide excellent service and support to your clients
  • Work closely with the larger team to ensure all clients are receiving a world class service
  • Understand the industry the company operate in and monitor competitor activity
  • Assist the Business Development Manager(s) at industry events and seminars
  • Booking and attending client meetings
  • Be creative and have an understanding of what separates the company from their competitors

To be considered for this position you must;
  • Be socially confident with excellent presentation skills
  • Holds a full Driving License
  • Goal orientated and entrepreneurial
  • Takes ownership and proposes solutions
  • Demonstrates success in their sales new business/account management career to date
  • Want to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Umbrella or recruitment back ground is preferred but not essential
