This position provides assistance to the Marine Lubricants Pricing & Sales Operations Manager and is critical to support the direction of the business strategy through the bid-quote process as well as ensuring integrity of data used to compile the bid-quotes. The challenge of this position is to work remotely with team members in other regions and it requires a high level of discipline and accountability to ensure tasks are prioritized and completed in time without having close supervision.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Manages the Marine Lubricants Quotations process, ensures that all quotations are prepared with accurate information and latest cost data.
  • Acts as an advisor to Sales team on Marine Lubricants Pricing. Combines market and product knowledge as well as pricing strategy to develop competitive pricing offers.
  • Works closely with Regional Managers and Account Managers to get accurate and complete information, including the review of existing customer accounts & lifting patterns, to structure quotations in accordance with current guidelines and business strategy.
  • Submits and recommends proposed quotations to Account, Pricing, Regional & General Manager Marine Lubricants for approval within agreed Delegations of Authority.
  • Manages Demand Planning process for Marine Lubricants.
  • Leverages latest technology (e.g. Analytics, PowerBI) to perform routine and ad-hoc analyses on existing, potential business and to support the improvement of customer profitability.
  • Conducts and supports analyses exercises to support the Lubricants management team to direct the business including price increase capture, market share data, profitability by segment and other ad-hoc initiatives.
  • In coordination with the Contracts Specialist, ensures full and correct information is submitted to customers when making a bid.
  • Consistently reviews the quotation tool, SDFC Service Cloud processes and other processes to find areas for improvement.
  • Communicates proactively with local sales teams and the Pricing and Business Support team to ensure global alignment and information sharing across regions.
  • Provides facilitation of visibility and insights to market information that supports better pricing decisions through data gathering, analytics and information parsing.
  • As SME for Marine Lubricants ERP System SAP, provides training and shares knowledge on the SAP business support processes, screens and data flows
  • Ensures maintenance and accuracy of data in SAP. Ensures contracts are entered in line with approved quotations.
  • Works closely with Supply Chain on costing and demand planning.
  • Investigates cost changes and shares information with other Pricing Analysts and Sales team.
  • Assists Pricing & Sales Operations Manager, Regional Manager and Account Managers in the implementation of price increases and ensures price changes are entered correctly into SAP.
  • Acts as a backup for the Pricing & Sales Operations Manager and other Pricing Analysts.

Required Qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or Finance/Economics
  • 2+ years of commercial experience

  • Analytical mindset and flexible approach
  • Commercial thinking - ability to see the link between the numbers and physical reality
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Very strong Excel skills, PowerQuery, PowerBI and/ or SFDC (Analytics) skills desired- ability to manipulate and explore large datasets. Working knowledge of DAX is desired.
  • Ability and willingness to embrace new digital tools as necessary.
  • A driven individual who can work independently and is a strong team player.
