The Trainer Assessor / Consultant will be expected to deliver training and supervise, assist and assess Apprentices in a range of workplace locations across London.

You must have experience delivering Business Improvement Techniques and Lean & Six Sigma practices


  • A1 / TAQA 3 (or equivalent)
  • PTLLS / CTLLS / DTTLS (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma Methodology
  • Functional Skills Level 2 (or equivalent) in Maths, English and ICT

  • IV Award (or equivalent)
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow / Green / Black Belt


  • Experience of delivering training in the workplace to meet specific criteria and learning outcomes.
  • Experience of assessing at Level 2/3 (minimum) in subject area Business Improvement Techniques, Improving Quality Operations, or IFA Improvement Standards.
  • Experience of self-managing a portfolio of learners with successful outcomes.

  • Familiarity with revised Functional Skills standards
  • Familiarity with Apprenticeship Improvement based Frameworks/Standards
  • Experience of dealing with relevant Awarding Bodies
  • Experience of Internal Verification
  • Experience of designing bespoke support materials, to accommodate individual client needs
  • Experience of coaching learners in the workplace
  • Experience of work place learning delivery

  • Ability to deliver effective and quality training in a 1:1 or larger group basis
  • Ability to develop course materials to support additional learning needs
  • Ability to follow our procedures and comply with the requirements of relevant Awarding Bodies / End Point Assessment Offices

  • Able to work with, and effectively manage, conflicting priorities and to tight deadlines
  • A 'can-do' approach to work and the ability to work flexibly when required
  • Prepared to work outside normal office hours on occasion to meet business needs

Specific Duties
  • Deliver training that provides the underpinning knowledge, and develops skills & behaviours, for those undertaking apprenticeship qualifications in the IFA standards based Improvement programmes from Levels 2 to 6.
  • Deliver training that supports the development of Functional Skills Maths and English to achieve outcomes at Level 2 for both, and provide additional learning support to individuals as needed to ensure timely successful completion in line with apprenticeship standards EPA Gateway requirements.
  • Support candidates with the preparation of portfolios and evidence required for assessment, including End Point Assessment.
  • Support the Training Organisation's pre-enrolment, enrolment, assessment and certification processes to ensure learners are undertaking the most appropriate training and that their achievement is well managed.
  • Carry out individual assessments of candidate's assignments and project work, and provide feedback and guidance as necessary.
  • Comply with all relevant Training Organisation's protocols, processes and procedures.
  • Participate in regular cohort and caseload reviews, standardisation meetings, and CPD events as scheduled.
  • Advise the Operations Manager / Apprenticeship Delivery Manager of any issues, problems or concerns in respect candidate programme participation in a timely manner, and to apply effective measures and interventions to manage those at potential risk.
  • Work with other members of the Apprenticeship training team to ensure that a quality service is delivered to employer partners.
  • Provide regular updates to employer providers, and actively engage with them as part of candidate 12 weekly reviews.
  • Play an active role in spreading good practice within the team.
  • Carry out other duties, as agreed, relevant to the role. Responsible for the assessment/ training of underpinning knowledge, work based skills as laid down in training programme documentation, using a variety of assessment methods as appropriate.
  • Liaise with other staff within the Training Organisation such as Account Managers, Enrolment Planning, and the Quality Team etc. to ensure the "whole" package of training is consistently seamless and delivered to an outstanding level.
  • Rigorously implement assessment guidelines and practices established by the internal verifiers and as set out in the EPAO guidance material, and maintain all candidate records as appropriate.
  • Ensure the timely completion of course delivery programmes through the management of a "no surprises" approach to candidate progress management.
  • Actively promote all Improvement & Business Skills programmes and activities during work based visits to employers.
  • Ensure that understanding and experience of the industry is up to date and relevant and take part in activities to ensure this.
  • Manage travel and other expense costs in line with the Training Organisation's policy guidelines.
  • Optimise use of available delivery methods and remote learning platforms to minimise unnecessary travel to minimise carbon footprints.
  • Any other duties as required and as are consistent with the grade and general responsibilities of the post.

Any special conditions attaching to the post:
  • The post holder must hold a full clean driving licence and have access to a car as the post requires travel to individuals' workplaces throughout their assigned region.
  • A full DBS check is required.
