Location: Home based (travel within Basildon and Brentwood areas)
Fixed term Contract until 31st March 2021
Part time 17.5 hours per week
Hourly rate: GBP 10.00 per hour

We've got an opportunity...

We are working in partnership with the Rural Community Council of Essex (RCCE), Age UK Essex and Neighbourhood Watch to provide a county-wide Community Agents Service.

This is a community-based, community-led, early intervention programme which aims to strengthen individual resilience, provide support at home and reduce the need for health, social care and community safety interventions. You will be working with people 18 plus.

The role is home based with occasional travel to the Red Cross Chelmsford office and other Red Cross or RCCE offices as appropriate.

You will work a fixed contract of 17.5 hours per week but these hours can be worked anytime between 9am-5pm Monday to Friday to suit you and you the people you are supporting.

The Independent Living (IL) & Crisis Response (CR) service (IL/CR) are dedicated to making lives of vulnerable people a little bit better. We're a small team dotted all over the country that shares the same goal - to help those that need it most.

From picking up groceries to helping out around the house, we're there to make a difference. There's nothing better than knowing the time we spent with someone made them feel safer, happier, and more able to deal with crisis.

Also, you should be the following:
  • Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent by experience)
  • IT literate
  • Have a full driving licence holder and access to own vehicle
  • Have a good knowledge of services provided by the NHS and Social Care
  • Have a knowledge of the local area served by the scheme
  • Able to travel around the area as required


Closing date for application is 23.59hrs on Tuesday; 26th of November 2019 with interviews to follow.
