Southend University Hospital are recruiting a Clinical Fellow (Foundation Year 1 Level) in Acute Medicine on a permanent basis.

This post has been designed to develop junior doctors' generic skills before entering the Foundation year 2 programme as expected by Modernising Medical Careers and will work in conjunction with the Foundation Year 1 training posts.

Although these posts have neither Royal College nor Postgraduate approval for training, they will be well supported by an allocated educational mentor.

The Trust has an excellent Postgraduate Medical Centre which carries a full programme of events and offers access to a Medical Library and education opportunities.

You must have an MBBS (or equivalent) and be eligible for Full Registration with the General Medical Council at the time of taking up the appointment.

On appointment: 27 days

After five years' service: 29 days
