Our client, an Education Service Provider, are currently looking to recruit a PART-TIME Governors Clerk to provide a Clerking Service to schools across the West Midlands. The successful candidate will be working within the existing team and will be well organised, flexible and skilled in producing minutes. *TERM TIME ONLY*

As the Administrator you will be responsible for:
  • Providing effective clerking and administrative support to school governing boards ensuring information is received in a timely manner and that challenge, decisions and follow up actions are recorded appropriately. Meetings often take place in the evening and are held in schools at various locations.
  • Implementing, monitoring and reviewing systems for the quality control of board documentation
  • Working with the Board in relation to forward planning, ensuring that potential changes in legislation are effectively communicated and that any potential impact for the board are understood
  • Supporting the Board in its strategic planning ensuring that it fulfils and understands its role and core function
  • Providing professional challenge, and intervene where necessary in meetings, to ensure the board is compliant in respect of legislative and procedural issues.
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with the Board, it's chair and senior leaders in schools
  • Managing any conflict of interest and issues of confidentiality within, and outside of, meetings ensuring any decisions made are in the best interests of all
  • Managing the workload and diary commitments for multiple school boards
  • Researching and sourcing relevant information on behalf of the board

The successful candidate for the role of Administrator will have:
  • Experience of using a range of ICT packages
  • Experience of taking and producing accurate minutes
  • Maintain own Professional awareness relating to School Governance Issues
  • Must be able to travel to various locations throughout the West Midlands
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the Service

In return the Administrator will receive a basic salary of £25,400 - £30,000pa (PRO RATA). Working hours are Monday - Friday 25-25 hours per week (term time).
