The Working Capital Insights Accountant role is to support the CFO, Legal Services role to provide insight into working capital in the business especially around WIP, trade receivables and legal disbursements. This will require liaison with Operations, Supply Chain, Treasury and FP&A as well as presentations to senior management. The role will involve analysis of large datasets to identify trends, forecast cashflow impacts, present analysis and provide recommendations for operational improvements.

The Working Capital Insights Accountant role is to contribute to the attainment of Slater Gordons business objectives by:
  • Developing financial analysis and reporting to enable effective tracking of working capital to provide insight and identify areas of focus
  • Develop financial models to predict future cashflow impacts
  • Consider the working capital implications of new business development proposals

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce analysis to provide insight into key working capital trends and develop KPIs to track progress
  • Develop reporting of key KPIs and financial performance (daily, weekly and monthly) including commentaries and variance analysis
  • Develop financial models and presentations on working capital covering WIP, trade receivables, disbursements and legal creditors and the impact on cashflow
  • Develop MI to track adherence to the firm's policies and procedures in incurring disbursements
  • Produce various working capital optimisation scenarios
  • Develop strategies based on insights and support operational implementation
  • Prepare working capital reporting for the month end management accounts
  • Provide assistance to finance team as required eg assistance with reconciliations, assistance with audit etc especially with resolution of differences
  • Review and analysis of the WIP model identifying areas to investigate if results are not in line with expectations. Perform follow up and investigation as required liaising with the Operations teams
  • Provide Input into working capital analysis for the budget and reforecast processes
  • Work on bespoke projects as required including business development opportunities

  • Accounting qualification - ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience managing large data sets
  • PowerBI skills preferred
  • Ability to build financial models
  • 5 years PQE preferably in an analytical role in finance
  • Strong problem solving, research and analytical experience
