We are looking for

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Environmental Field Studies educator to manage and expand our exciting environmental field studies programmes across Kingswood outdoor education centres.

You will be responsible for managing and developing quality Geography (and Biology) GCSE, A level and KS2 field studies programmes which engage pupils, deliver curriculum objectives and receive excellent feedback from teachers. This role will provide the central competence to ensure a high level of field studies teaching across the Kingswood estate, primarily focussing on Overstrand Hall, Norfolk and Colomendy in North Wales but also managing programme expansion to other centres.

You will design and deliver innovative, market leading programmes that engage all ages using the natural environment both on and surrounding our centres. Geography is our main focus but you will refresh and expand our KS2 Explore programme to deliver engaging, relevant and insightful programmes for Primary schools. This role is a great opportunity to widen our environmental offering to include other sciences and environmental topics in line with the Primary and Secondary curricula and incorporating wider public interest.

You will be leading and training a team of Kingswood environmental instructors and be responsible for the efficient management of the academic team, development and delivery of the academic programme, timetable, staffing, quality assurance and the development of high standards in line with external exam board curricula. The role is based at our leading field studies centre in Overstrand Hall in Norfolk but travelling will be required between our centres as you write programmes and manage environmental instructors in other centres.

You will supporting the Sales team with your specialist knowledge and work closely with customers to meet their needs and build long term relationships to encourage customer loyalty.

In the role you will be using your academic, leadership and organisational skills that will role model excellent educational practise and drive innovation.

The experience you will need:
  • Previous teaching experience - field studies or school based (secondary desirable)
  • A University degree in Geography or Environmental studies (graduate or post-graduate).
  • A understanding of informal and/or experiential learning methodology
  • Ability to lead a team and manage remotely.
  • Highly-motivated, energetic and personable.
  • Excellent communicator and problem solver, able to work under pressure and work efficiently within tight deadlines.
  • A working knowledge of GIS systems desirable
  • Full clean driving licence for travel between Kingswood environmental study centres

Successful candidates are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure at the company's expense. You need to possess the legal right to live and work in the UK to be considered for employment with Kingswood.
