The Community Rehabilitation Service operates in five localities across Kent to provide intensive rehabilitation and recovery focussed support to service users in their own homes.

The team use an holistic approach together with partners from 3rd Sector agencies who provide additional Social Care and landlord/tenancy support in order to enable individuals with complex mental health needs to manage more effectively in the community.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated support worker to join our experienced team in Ashford. The successful candidate will work under the guidance and supervision of qualified staff to deliver individualised treatment and support to a defined caseload, with a focus on enabling clients to manage their mental health and wellbeing.

This will include supporting clients to maintain their living environment, and encouraging and supporting them to have meaningful roles and purpose within their local communities.

The post involves lone working, 1 to 1 work and group-work and individualised programmes of care in order to support clients to develop and enhance their skills and independent and promote recovery, and the successful candidate will be expected to work flexible hours between 08:00 and 20:00 according to the needs of the service, this will include some, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

If you have previous experience in working with individuals with mental health problems in a community setting, are flexible and resourceful and have excellent verbal and written communication skills we would be very interested in hearing from you. Personal lived experience of mental health issues is also desirable.

This post is subject to a six month probationary period for candidates external to the Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.
