Your new role
The Housing Solutions Team require a Housing Occupational Therapist to join the team on a temporary basis to assist in the re-housing of people who are disabled or who are suffering a long term medical condition. The role includes working alongside the Lettings Officers with a view to letting properties with major adaptations to those applicants who can make best use of the adaptations in-situ. The Housing Occupational Therapist will provide advice and support to the Housing Solutions Team and wider Housing Team when dealing with requests for an urgent medical priority. Applications from candidates who can work full time or part time are welcome. This role will require you to work from home at present.

You will be supported by a fast-paced team, completing between 15 and 20 cases. This is an expanding team are the front end of the Adult Social Care service offering a recovery and rehabilitation model as the initial model of care and support for all disabled, older and vulnerable residents in the borough. These opportunities for Occupational Therapists have arisen due to additional funding approved to increase access to the service. Flexibility is required across the Birmingham area and hours will be shifted between 7am-8pm Monday-Friday.

In order to be successful in this role, you will need
  • Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Social work Registration
  • Care first 6 knowledge desirable but training will be giving
